The Africa Centre for Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment (ACEYE) has released a new initiative called the “ACEYE Policy review series.” This series is a comprehensive review of policies, analyzing them from economic and political perspectives, highlighting merits, challenges, and areas for improvement.
The second article of the ACEYE policy review series analyzes a section of Chapter 3 of the NDC’s 2024 political manifesto and is titled “Revamping Ghana’s Poultry and Livestock Industry: A Strategy for Rural Development and Economic Growth.” This article explores policy 3.1.1 Feed Ghana Programme – Increasing Agricultural Production for Food Security. This review finds that just like any policy/project there has ever been, there will be implementation challenges and examining these carefully, identifying strengths and weaknesses, is a step towards success.
The key topics highlighted in this review are;
- The State of the poultry and livestock industry in Ghana.
- The NDC’s initiatives to improve the sector.
- The practical feasibility of the policies.
- The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for growth, and areas for improvement.
